Cancer Biology for Data Scientists
The goal of the series is to provide a broad overview of basic biology topics tailored to Data Scientists, including genetics and molecular biology, cancer hallmarks and diagnosis, immunology, therapies and other interventions, model systems, epigenetics and genomics, and common laboratory and clinical assays. This is a great way to better understand where your data are coming from and better anticipate your collaborators’ biological questions and mechanistic motivations.
The series is set to begin on Tuesday September 2 from 10am – 12pm and will occur about twice a month thereafter. Each session will be around 1.5-2 hours in length, led by faculty in Data Science as well as some of our collaborating colleagues in Medical Oncology.
No prior background knowledge is required; however, each session will expand on earlier topics introduced in the series, so active and engaged attendance is encouraged.
- The sessions will take place in the Center for Life Science Building, 11th floor, room 11081.
- All sessions are hybrid but we strongly encourage you to attend in person as some sessions will be interactive.
- Some sessions will be recorded and available to registrants only.
- Refreshments will be available.
- Register below – please note you need to be logged into your DS Google account to register.
